A 28-year-old Halifax man was Tasered, after threatening to kill two police officers Tuesday night, says Halifax Regional Police.

Just after 10 p.m., a man approached the officers who were responding to a separate call in the 2100 block of Barrington Street.

Police said the man threatened the officers, and when they tried to arrest him, he ran away. They followed him to Brunswick Street, where he turned to them and yelled he was going to stab them.

The officers used a Taser to subdue the man and arrested him. No one was hurt.

Police said a knife was found nearby.

The man is facing charges of assaulting a police officer with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resisting arrest and uttering death threats.
