Nova Scotia RCMP returned to the scene Monday as they investigate human remains found near East Uniacke.

RCMP responded to a call that remains had been found at around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, according to a news release. A hunter found the remains in a wooded area off East Uniacke Road, about 40 minutes north of Halifax between Highway 101 and Beaver Bank Road.

Cpl. Dal Hutchinson, an RCMP spokesman, said investigators were also on the scene Sunday collecting evidence.

He said RCMP will be able to confirm more information about the investigation, including information about the remains, after an autopsy is conducted on Tuesday.

“Until such time there are no details to provide,” he said.
