Dartmouth woman’s death ruled a homicide

The Forensic Identification Unit remained outside Farthington Place on Monday.Halifax Regional Police say the death of Deborah Irene Yorke, 63, in Dartmouth on Sunday was a homicide.
Police released the woman’s name Tuesday following an autopsy. The medical examiner determined that she had been killed.
Yorke was found just after 4 a.m. on Sunday when police were called to 3 Farthington Pl. She died at the scene.
Investigators were back at the apartment building in north-end Dartmouth Monday and Tuesday.
Police executed a search warrant at a Jackson Road location on Monday, but said Tuesday that it had been cleared.
This is the second homicide in Dartmouth in a few days. Late Friday afternoon, Derek Miles, 42, was pronounced dead in an apartment in the 0-100 block of Pinecrest Drive.
Police have not said whether the deaths are connected.
