William Sandeson, 23, briefly appeared in court today where dates were set for his preliminary inquiry.
The hearing is set to begin on Feb. 22, 2016.
Sandeson is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Taylor Samson, a physics student at Dalhousie University. Samson went missing in August. A few days later, Sandeson was charged. He remains in custody.
Samson’s body has not been found.
Defence lawyer Eugene Tan requested 25 witnesses for the preliminary inquiry, but Crown prosecutor Susan MacKay said that’s too many. The defence and the Crown are set to meet Jan. 13 for a focus hearing to go over the list.
