Local artists put their work on display to raise money for the Halifax NS Down Syndrome Society during Saturday’s Super Nova Art Fest.

Team Possibles Art Collective, a program of the Down Syndrome Society, has been operational since 2007, led by artist and educator Renee Forrestall. The event, which attracted about 300 people, was held at St. Mary’s Boat Club.

The art featured at the festival spanned media, with paintings, prints, felt and yarn art, and clothing for sale. Artists who experience Down syndrome showcased their work to celebrate the beauty and richness of their community.

The artists raised more than $5,000 from their original art.
