Halifax RCMP have seized three guns and over 500 rounds of ammunition after a man told police he’d been threatened.

RCMP began investigating on Nov. 10 after receiving a complaint from a victim who alleged he was receiving threatening phone calls.

On Nov. 20, officers searched a Halifax home and found a handgun, semi-automatic rifles, a Kevlar vest, cash, and 28 prohibited magazines of ammunition.

Samir Dib Elias of Halifax is being charged with 35 criminal offences.

According to the Halifax RCMP’s street crime enforcement section, the 33-year old man is accused of 28 counts of possession of a prohibited item. Other offences include uttering threats, unsafe storage and intimidation of a justice system participant.

Elias has a court date today and is being held in police custody.
