A terrific rock band was searching for a great name. They noticed that in the news one word kept coming up over and over – and that it would make a cool name. And so the Clash was born.

An artist today might zero in on this word: uncertainty. Uncertainty is the key word of 2025, recurring in media, spoken by world leaders, felt on the street. Things were already tense; then came Donald Trump. The first 100 days of his second term have been breathtaking in their ability to make billions of people feel less secure, less confident and less certain.
