The Saint Mary’s University professor made the presentation at the Halifax Central Library.
Haiven showed people different ways of fundraising money, from running bottle drives and selling Girl Guide cookies to crowdfunding and arranging legacy gifts (leaving money for a cause in a will).
While most people are ashamed to ask for money, she hopes activists will overcome this fear. Haiven says the only way small causes can thrive is to ask for money.
