St. FX men’s hockey team clinches spot in CIS finals

St. FX hockey team victorious after an edge-of-the-seat game against SMU

The St. Francis Xavier X-men are on their way to the finals after beating the St. Mary’s University Huskies 4-3 Wednesday night at the Halifax Forum.

SMU started the game off with three quick goals in the first period.

St. FX was able to rack up three goals over the first two periods.

Going into a tied third period, the large crowd was buzzing.

St. FX scored the only goal of the third period, earning them the win and their spot in the final eight at the Canadian Interuniversity Sport championships.

The CIS hockey championships will be held in at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax from March 17-20.
