Students in the University of King’s College radio workshop have been hard at work producing the Radio Room, a program that broadcasts on CKDU 88.1fm. Tune in every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30p.m. Here are a few highlights from the past week.
Poet Kaitlyn Boulding on Questions to Ask Yourself Before Giving Up

Kaitlyn was all too familiar with the feeling of being attacked by self-advice from the grocery store aisles. She wrote ‘Questions to Ask Yourself Before Giving Up’ for a friend who was having a hard time. The poem is meant to give care, without mandating it. Here’s a link to the poem
Curling With A World Champion

Mikkel Frederiksen didn’t believe curling was a sport. Kathleen Napier challenged him to a lesson and brought two-time World Curling champion, Colleen Jones, with her.
Shoeboxes for Women’s Shelters

Jessica Brennan has been filling shoeboxes with small gifts as part of the Shoebox Project. Her shoeboxes will go to women’s shelters in Halifax, for Christmas morning.

Kelsey Johnston owns All 4 Paws, a mobile dog grooming salon in the back of her van. As the only mobile salon to serve HRM, she says mobile grooming is more convenient for both pets and their busy owners.
