A “living portrait” exhibit at the Nocturne festival of art last night represented Halifax’s past, present and future. The four models are stylized representations of the “unfounding” of Halifax, the Halifax Explosion, Hurricane Juan and the city’s speculative future. The pieces were made by NSCAD textile students Johana Cordero, Leanne Hanson, Deniree Isabel and Toban Ralston in collaboration with Spirit Spa, which provided artistic hair and makeup.
