The third podcast episode of The Signal’s Radio Workshop airs on Nov. 22, Canada’s National Housing Day. Hosts Jennifer Lee and Dylan Cunningham explore housing issues with the rest of the radio team.

Diana Foxall has the national housing report. Foxall speaks to experts about the government’s Let’s Talk Housing survey, released Tuesday.

Lee revisits the Homes Not Hondas campaign, where community efforts were not enough to stop the development by Steele Auto Group on Robie Street.

The difficulties that trans people face in finding and keeping adequate housing is investigated by Lara Lewis. She speaks to trans women and activists about discrimination.

Robert Crossley looks into the issue of heritage buildings around Halifax, and the uneasy balance between their possible demolition and constant new developments.

Finally, Nzingha Millar visits Metro Turning Point and reports on shelters and homelessness in Halifax.

This week’s show was produced by Peter Topshee and Luke MacDonald.
